Synthesia is a free game that teaches you to play the piano using falling notes. With it, you can:

  • Learn to play songs using a musical keyboard connected to your computer.
  • Keep track of your progress in every song with per-song scoreboards.
  • Slow, fast-forward, and rewind songs while learning new parts.
  • Practice left and right hand parts together or separately.
  • Try out any MIDI file you can find on the Internet.

With the new (completely optional) for-pay “Learning Pack” component there are a couple more features you can unlock. Have an easier time learning the notes in a song with the new practice mode. And, view songs as sheet music in addition to the falling note display.

A Free Sonic Add-on “QuickTime Playback”

QuickTime Playback for Songbird allows you to play FairPlay Audio files in Songbird .

The QuickTime Playback extension allows you to play your favorite FairPlay audio files in SongBird. The QuickTime Playback for Songbird addon is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.

Supports M4P audio files purchased from the iTunes Music Store.

It doesn’t play files with FairPlay DRM, it only allows for playing AAC files, known by their extension m4a. Generally, files with FairPlay DRM have the extension m4p.

A. Last.fm is a popular Internet radio site for streaming music. Last.fm uses a music recommender system called “Audioscrobbler”, which builds a detailed profile of each user’s musical taste by recording details of the songs the user listens to.

SaveThoseLyrics

SaveThoseLyrics is a very simple yet extremely useful Mac OS X Dashboard widget that allows you to visualize the lyrics of the current iTunes song and save them.

Based on mLyrics, I have improved it to release SaveThoseLyrics, a simple MacOS widget to visualize the lyrics of the current song and save them.

I released it because I used to have Harmonic 1.5.2, but it stopped working when I updated iTunes to iTunes 10. I didn’t find any widget adaptable to my needs so I fixed this very simple widget to automatically update the lyrics.

Installation & Instructions for use:

1- Unzip the file and double-click it to install into Dashboard.

2- That’s all, folks! It will search for current song’s lyrics if there isn’t any, and it will show them. Scroll up/down for large lyrics.

Functions:

-Checks the current song’s lyrics, searches it, and it saves them if there aren’t any.

-Works with iTunes 10.

Ditto Music

Ditto Music is a digital music distribution company specialising in supplying unsigned artists with services previously only available to signed artists. Ditto Music allows artists access to key distribution stores such as Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Emusic etc. Other services include chart eligibility, royalty collection and online promotion. In 2007 Ditto Music released “One Off Song For The Summer” by Essex band Koopa.
