What is Divo Codec?

As an unique media codec, the Divo Codec enables users to play movies and music encoded in this media format.  Unlike identical codecs, DivoCodec installs malware on the users computer. The DivoCodec is polymorphic and can change its structure. It has also been known to write to another process’ virtual memory.

3GP Player is a basic program that lets users play 3GP videos and other video formats on their computers. Although the program works, we didn’t find much about it that was very impressive. 3GP Player 2010 is a Free 3GP player for your PC. It supports all mobile phone video formats including 3GP, 3G2 (3GPP2) and MPEG-4, most of the video and audio codecs are supported.
Now you can watch all your 3GP videos on your PC with this free and easy to use program. The program’s interface is sparse and takes up a lot of space relative to the features it offers. A large rectangular screen contains three widely-space icons; one to load videos, one for Help, and one with 3GP links. A significant chunk of the bottom of the interface is devoted to advertising.

The Media Player Codec Pack is a simple to install package of codecs/filters/splitters used for playing back music and movie files.

After installation you will be able to play 99.9% of files through your media player, along with XCD’s, VCD’s, SVCD’s and DVD’s. Also included in the package are a number of encoder codec’s, allowing you to encode files in formats such as DivX. XviD, x264 and many more in your favourite encoding application. 

Compression types supported include DivX, XviD, x264, h.264 and many more in AVI, MKV, OGM, MP4 files. RealMedia Splitter allows to read audio or video files in RealNetworks format (RM, RAM, RMVB, etc.) from any reader based on DirectX.

It can be used in combination with RealAlternative to read RMVB files by decompressing RealMediaSplitter.ax file (using 7-Zip) in c:winntsystem32 ou C:WINDOWSsystem32 depending on the operating system (Windows 2000/Windows XP). After saving the decompressed file in the registry, stick the following instruction:
regsvr32 RealMediaSplitter.ax

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

Not compatible with the Vista system!

What is QuickTime Alternative?

QuickTime Alternative is a codec package for Microsoft Windows for playing QuickTime media, normally only playable by the official QuickTime software distribution from Apple Inc. That means it will allow you to play QuickTime files (.mov, .qt, .3gp and other extensions) without having to install the official QuickTime Player. It also supports QuickTime content that is embedded in webpages.

QuickTime Alternative consists of codec libraries extracted from the official distribution, including the official QuickTime plugin and Media Player Classic. The main differences between the official QuickTime distribution and QuickTime Alternative are in feature set, size, and consumption of system resources. QuickTime Alternative is a smaller package and lacks the full complement of software included in Apple QuickTime. In addition, QuickTime Alternative does not run background processes.
