TechCrunch columnist MG Seigler just indicated that Google would unveil a native Gmail app for iPad, iPhone:
Yeah, you currently can access to your Gmail on those iOS devices now, Apple provides the Mail app which you can add your Gmail account and check Gmails whenever it is and wherever you are. And there are also other third party apps enable you to use Gmail on your iOS device. But, well, isn’t it great to have the official Gmail for iPhone, iPad from Google? In spite of the pretty great UI for Web-based Gmail on iOS devices, this native Gmail application for iOS is definitely a unicorn of sorts. But Seigler also notes that Google had no comment about the issue.
If this rumor is true, iPad and iPhone Gmailers would get benefit without doubt, but those Android device producers might lose one of their advantages over iPhone, iPad and iPod.
